As you probably know, the 2017 CONEXPO-CON/AGG was just held from March 7 through 11 in the always-exciting city of Las Vegas, Nevada. This massive annual trade show drew around 2,500 exhibitors, filling 2.5 million square feet of event space at the Las Vegas Convention Center with representatives from every sector of the construction industry. It’s the most comprehensive construction industry show in the country.

It was incredibly informative and lots of fun. There’s nothing quite like immersing yourself in all the exciting things happening across all segments of the industry.
Of course, showcases of new heavy equipment were of particular interest. Leading up to the show, CASE Construction Equipment had been teasing us all with “Project Minotaur,” for example. They unveiled the new concept at the 2017 CONEXPO-CON/AGG, and it turned out to be an intriguing hybrid, described as a half-dozer, half compact track loader… the DL450 Compact Dozer Loader.
It was really impressive, and CASE reps used the opportunity to collect extensive contractor feedback that they’ll be reviewing and applying to perfect the machine design before release. All in all, CASE had more than 30 pieces of heavy equipment on display at the show.
In addition to all the exhibitor booths, there were more than 150 educational presentations and plenty of fun and recreational offerings. There’s also a big charitable element to CONEXPO-CON/AGG, and this year’s event saw an increased focused on the tech side of various areas of the construction industry.
